چکیده

The increasing emphasis on quality software has prompted the need for better software quality management using data driven and statistical methods. Various measures of development and released software quality have been created to make the process measurable, repeatable, and continuously improving. Defect Removal Efficiency (DRE) is one of the commonly used metrics for measuring the efficiency of defect removal at various stages of the software development life cycle. By extrapolating the DRE metric to released products, an organization can measure the effectiveness of their quality assurance process based on the number of defects found in the product before and after its release. A couple of key aspects that this metric fails to account for are the “number of customers” using the product and the “amount of time” a product has been out in the market. This paper accounts for these two key aspects and incorporates them as a measure of “product adoption” while calculating the Defect Removal Efficiency. The paper also analyzes the effect of various parameters on the metric, which unearths more meaning from the metric value. Advantages of a Transformational Grammar for Question Answering

A number of researchers in ar t i f ic ia l intel l igence, for example, Woods(1975, p.88 f f . ), have asserted that transformat ional grammars are not a satisfactory basis on which to construct natural language understanding systems, pr imari ly because of eff ic iency considerations. The evidence for such a claim is by no means strong, Pe t r i ck (1976) , and it can be argued that transfer ...

Effects of sampling, shipping, and storage on total organic carbon levels in water samples.

An estimation of the organic content of water has been used for some time as an indicator of water qual i ty (E.P.A. 1975). The carbon adsorption method (CAM) was developed in 1951-52 for this purpose but is no longer recommended (CAPELLI et al . 1977, OTSON et al . 1979). With recent improvements in analytical instrumentation, total organic carbon (TOC) determinations are being used to assess ...
